Gallery Sharing lets a spotted attendee share access to their own private gallery with additional family members, such as a second parent or a grandparent. This is different from Family Registration, which registers multiple people together under one contact before the event. Gallery Sharing works after someone is already spotted, and gives each added person their own notification and their own copy of the gallery link.
What Is Gallery Sharing?
Once an attendee is spotted and has their own gallery, Gallery Sharing lets them (or a photographer on their behalf) add another phone number or email address that will also receive notifications and access for that same gallery. It solves a common request: two parents who both want their own copy of their child's event photos, without registering the child twice.
How to Enable Gallery Sharing
Log in to your SpotMyPhotos dashboard.
Go to Account Settings > Registration (or visit dashboard.spotmyphotos.com/settings/registration).
Enable the Gallery Sharing toggle.
Click Save.
This is an account-level setting. It is off by default and applies to every event on the account once turned on.
How Guests Add a Family Member Themselves
Once Gallery Sharing is on, an attendee who has already been spotted can add a family member from their own gallery:
Open their private gallery link.
Scroll to the bottom and click Preferences.
In the Account Preferences window, find Share Gallery with Family Members.
Choose SMS or Email, enter the family member's phone number or email address, and click Add Family Member.
The added family member gets their own notification and their own access to that same gallery, without needing to register or be spotted separately.
Adding a Family Member for a Guest (Photographer-Assisted)
A photographer can do this on a guest's behalf directly from the dashboard:
Open the event and go to the Attendees tab.
Find the guest, click the Actions menu (three dots) next to their row, and select View Gallery.
In their gallery, scroll to the bottom and click Preferences, then follow the same steps as above under Share Gallery with Family Members.
Things to Know
Gallery Sharing only works for a guest who has already been spotted and has an existing gallery. It does not register a new person or enroll a new reference photo, so an added family member is not separately spotted in future photos.
This is a different feature from Family Registration, which enrolls up to 4 additional family members' own reference photos at registration time so each is individually spotted. Family Registration happens before photos are uploaded; Gallery Sharing happens after someone already has a gallery.
Gallery Sharing is an account-level toggle, so turning it on applies to all events on the account, not a single event.
