Understanding Your Gallery Dashboard: Filters, Stats, and Downloads

What the gallery filter dropdown does (Unspotted photos, Reset), how to expand the Stats Bar for complete statistics like download counts, and what DPI to expect on original and branded downloads.

Your event gallery in the dashboard includes a filter dropdown, a Stats Bar, and download tools. This article explains what the filters do, where to find complete event statistics (including counts that do not appear in the collapsed Stats Bar), and what to expect for the resolution (DPI) of downloaded photos.

The gallery filter dropdown: Unspotted photos and Reset

Above your event gallery there is a filter dropdown. Two things to know about it:

  • Unspotted photos shows the photos in your event that are not linked to any registered guest. This filter is your main tool when most guests received their photos but a handful never got anything.

  • Reset clears all the filters you have applied and shows the full gallery again. It does not change any photos or guests, and it does not request reprocessing.

You may also see an "Others" heading in the filter area. It is a section header, not a filter you can select. If you believe your event needs its spots re-run, that is a separate action handled by our support team: see Requesting Reprocessing of Spots for Your Event.

Using the Unspotted filter to find guests who never got photos

If most guests registered and received photos but a few report getting nothing, work through it like this:

  1. Filter the gallery by Unspotted photos.

  2. Open Tools & Settings and, under Downloads, download Attendee Data (CSV). It lists each registered guest with their contact details, so you can compare it against the guests who report getting nothing.

  3. Ignore group shots in the unspotted set. Focus on photos of the individuals who came up unmatched.

  4. Manually share each remaining person's photos to their email.

In the gallery, a teal person icon means a photo was manually shared, and a face icon means it was spotted automatically. If a guest shows "NA," they never accepted the terms; use the 3-dots menu to copy and resend their invite link. For resending gallery links, see Resending Gallery Links and Managing Unspotted Guests.

The Stats Bar: finding download and print counts

The Stats Bar at the top of your event shows a summary of activity, but some numbers, like how many photos were downloaded, do not appear in the collapsed view. This comes up often when sharing results with a client after an event.

The fix is the expand icon. As our support team put it: "You can click the expand icon to view the complete statistics." Click the icon in the corner of the Stats Bar to expand it, and the complete statistics view shows the figures that are hidden in the summary, including download counts.

Photo resolution and DPI on downloads

Some photographers notice a downloaded file reads 72 DPI and ask how to get 300 DPI for printing. What you get depends on which version you download:

  • Original downloads are whatever was uploaded. SpotMyPhotos does not change the DPI of an original, so an original reads whatever DPI your camera or editing software wrote into the file.

  • Branded downloads should be 300 DPI.

DPI in a file's metadata is only a print-density label. Actual print quality is determined by the pixel dimensions of the image, so a file tagged 72 DPI with full pixel dimensions prints the same as the same file tagged 300 DPI. If a branded download shows something other than 300 DPI, contact support through Intercom chat or support@spotmyphotos.com with the event name and the file.

For context, the platform displays photos at a maximum of 1800 x 1200 at 300 DPI, so a file you save from the gallery view may be the resized display version rather than the original. To get the highest resolution files:

  • Download the unbranded originals from your event: Tools & Settings, then Downloads, then Photo Files (ZIP), and choose the unbranded originals photo set. See Downloading Your Event Photos.

  • If you need photos to keep their original resolution end to end, enable Skip Photo Branding & Resizing for the team member shooting the photos, under the event's Tools & Settings, then Advanced Settings. Photos uploaded by that team member bypass branding overlays and resizing. See the Advanced Event Settings: Complete Reference Guide.
